Welcome to TellTale!

The person behind the name TellTale is me, Anna Rex. TellTale came about as an idea to tell peoples stories, to be able to capture moments and freeze time. This website is where I showcase a bit of my work, talk about what inspires me and generally what is happening in my life. Feel free to poke around at your leisure, in doing so you'll get to know a bit about me and what I do, and hopefully find something you like. New things will be added continuously, so you never know what you might find.  See you around!

Monochromatic life

As the year slowly comes to an end, the world drains of its colors. With a few precious hours of gentle daylight, life seems all the more black and white. A frostshimmering fog covered the trees yesterday in beautiful chrystals, and today the river lay calm as a mirror below the shoreline. Quiet, still and absolutely breathtaking. november2012

An Equinox wedding

Last weekend was a magical one, in so many ways. A dear friend got married, and I was invited as a guest and also the designated photographer. It’s usually a tricky thing to balance, working the wedding and, at times, acting like a normal civilian. Ninni and Christian made it easy for me however, making me feel very welcome in Ninnis childhood home Hovmantorp and letting me share their day in a comfortable way. This wedding easily takes a place in the top ten weddings of all time (and I’ve been to a few in my nine years of business!): The couple! The people! The atmosphere! The FOOD! The venue! The speeches! Needless to say, it was an amazing day with lots of love and laughs. One of the highlights was when the entire church stood up and sang “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” and clapped while Ninni and Christian were walking out after the ceremony. If you’ve seen Love Actually as many times as I have, you know EXACTLY what I’m talking about. Just incredible!

Quick summary

I’ve just gotten around to building something along the lines of a pdf-portfolio – here’s a taste of it! This is mostly recent work, with one “oldie-but-goldie” from 2008. The full pdf will be found (when it’s ready) under “Vision>This is TellTale” for downloading.

Some down time

After a couple of intense work months I decided to take some time off over Easter and just spend time with my family. No computer, no phone, just med and my loved ones. Great days, great times – darling daughter turned one, lots of good food got dreamed up and cooked, the sun came out and I treated myself to a few hours of replanting and sowing, getting ready for spring to really get here. Bliss.

This just in

This arrived in the mail yesterday – hot off the presses! The official release of Aspekts latest title Nanobook is later this spring, keep a lookout on Aspekt for more info! I’m just so pleased to see how the cover came out after spending hours looking at in on my screen. My part in this production is the book cover and CD, and the booklet that comes with the CD. Yes – a musically illustrated cyber novel!

A very different Valentine’s Day

This year I felt like I really did something right, and truly acted from the heart. I went on my first mission as a Essence Vitae-photographer. This means meeting and photographing families that are struggling with any sort of terminal illness. The goal of the Essence Vitae Project is to help these families by creating memories, freezing time and saving moments, to help the families cope through their troubles. I met up with this darling little family, and had the honour of meeting Freja. 6 months old and suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa, but a spirited little blue-eyed wonder she was!

Caroline & Markus

Another winter wedding, another day with crazy luck weatherwise – LOOK AT THE TREES!! Covered overnight in frost, providing the perfect setting. Markus and Caroline braved the cold and let me have my way with them, and their two adorable children. So out we went…img_0008img_0016img_0441img_0469img_0380img_0098img_0131img_0362img_0340img_0317img_0246img_0214img_0201img_0189img_0970

Wonderful winter wedding

Imagine you have booked a winter wedding. In January. In northern Sweden. Where there is virtually no light this time of year. Then, imagine there falling nearly a meter of snow the week before the wedding. And the sun, just creeping over the mountain ridges and sneaking into the valley below, right on time on the wedding day. Yes – I was THAT lucky today while photographing beautiful Daniel and Malin in Edsåsdalen, Jämtland. A truly glorious day.md014md030md047md050md082md102md114md144md146md186md264md277md299md351md374md407

A taste of late summer

Right when winter is at its prime, I was transported back a few months in time while looking at this familys pictures from a shoot in October. I met up with Tilda for the second time (you might recognize her from the banner above, adorable baby girl dipping her hand into a watering can) and her baby sister, Ida.

I’ve been with them since the start, and we can now proudly present the first three books, hot off the presses! I have designed the book covers, illustrated “Föräldrar och barn” and designed Aspekts website (www.aspekt.se). Read the first book review in SvD HERE. (In Swedish)
